During the years of 2012 - 2014 while living in Seattle, WA I worked with numerous professional glass makers, masters, designers, artisans and artists while I developed my comprehension of glass. In 2015 I settled into Brooklyn, NY to learn about lighting and grow as I continued to work as a multimedia artist and glass maker.
I have been in residency with Pittsburgh Glass Center, Circle 6 Studios and Monarch Glass Studio. I am part owner of an art and design studio called J & R Bauer, Inc. In 2016 I launched a collaborative archive and documentation project called freelancers|doc that works to capture life-long portraits of over 20 artists internationally.
