Night Light | 2019 - 2022
Night Light explores caustics, the patterns light forms as it bends through glass. Furnace glass has traditionally carried pattern within the material itself, through color, cane, and form. I use those same techniques to shape how light travels instead, so the pattern appears around the object as projected light, shifting with the light source, the viewer, and the time of day. The glass becomes less the image than the instrument that produces it.
